MICF @ The Comedy Theatre
Optical Audio was commissioned by Trafficlight to provide the system fit out and operation for The Comedy Theatre during the recent Melbourne International Comedy Festival. Optical Audio’s long standing relationship with Trafficlight was strengthened with another successful season.

The system needed to support a wide scope of audio requirements from the a three piece rock band to Frank Woodley’s dynamic sound score. As we had prior success fitting out The Comedy Theatre during 2007 Spicks and Specktacular it was decided to use the Nexo PS15 system again. Powered by the new Camco Q10 & Q6 amplifiers the system yet again proved it was capable of reproducing the discreet environmental sounds of Paul Macs sound scape to the high SPL needed the 'The Specktors' boisterous Hammond and Leslie.

Yamaha DM1000 Digital Console
Yamaha DME24N Network Processor
Utilising over 22 loud speakers in 10 audio zones an even high SPL coverage was provided to every seat in the house. At the heart of the system was the Yamaha DM1000 digital console with digital links to the Yamaha DME 24N network processor.
Time alignment and system tune was provided by the SMAART Live V5 system. With subtle and effective delay timing the FOH system was run with a flat EQ proving the ability of the Nexo speakers in tough theatrical environments with 25 channels of band, 4 live headsets and 4 roving handheld mics. This comfortably sat with 6 sends of stage monitors.
