Athletics Australia 2008 Trials
Optical Audio provided key audio elements for the sports presentation of the recent Athletics Australia Beijing trials. Held in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne, Optical Audio ensured flawless sound for all events.
Undertaking ground sound, broadcast audio links to SBS, communication links, system design and operation. Optical Audio once again proved it was the company for the job with all six race meets running successfully.
Optical Audio provided live audio webcast to the Athletics Australia site allowing worldwide monitoring of the races and results as they went to air.
The Meyer MSL4 speaker was chosen to provide on field replay to over 4000 fans. The MSL4 has proven long throw and speech intelligibility in trying environments and was the most suitable speaker for the application. A system comprising of 12 MSL4 speakers combined with 8 RCF 312a’s were accurately placed around the ground to ensure maximum distribution with minimal disruption to the on ground officials.
Audio links and processing was provided by the Yamaha DM1000V2 console linked to the Yamaha DME24N to ensure smooth distribution and isolation for all input and output feeds.
